Technical School Students See How Block and Mortar are Made
Students from the Dauphin County Technical School (DCTS) toured the York Building Products Thomasville Specialty Plant on October 24. The tour was conducted by YBP’s Doug Sheaffer, Chris, Gifford, and Chris Gibson. DCTS instructor Ryan Lillie and his 24 students started their tour by viewing the Workrite colored mortar portion of the plant. The students were fascinated at the vast number of mortar colors we produce.
The group then moved to the block production side of the facility, where they watched our block machine produce CornerStone retaining wall blocks. The students were very curious about block making, asking a lot of questions and enjoying all of the machinery in action.
We were honored to have the DCTS students as our guests and hope they continue their career in the masonry industry.
